Join Jill Snyder for two consecutive weekends at the Art is Inn for an informative time learning the ins and outs of creating a mosaic work of art from start to finish. This class will teach the fundamentals of mosaic arts. Learn how to create mosaics from a variety of media including ceramic, pottery, colored glass tiles, and stained glass sheets. Explore basic design principles, color theory, materials and techniques. Discover how to cut and shape tesserae using a variety of tools. This is a great class for beginners and intermediate students who want to further their skills in creating mosaics. This class is suitable for any experience or wellness level. All supplies are included in the cost of the class; however students may provide their own substrates and glass tile, if desired. Class meets on 3/23 at 9 am to 11 am for planning and designing your masterpiece. Return on Sunday 3/24 from 9 am to 1 pm to get to work using the tools and materials provided to outline your work. Continue on Saturday 3/30 from 9 am - 1 pm to complete the setting of materials and on Sunday 3/31 from 9 am to 11 am. you will cement the deal by grouting your piece to “tie” it all together. You’ll leave with all your mosaic questions answered and the skills to continue to work on your own.
